MSM Cares: Winter Care Kit

The MSM Buffalo Grove location just completed a 3-part Community Outreach project that spanned two months. During this project, team members had multiple opportunities to participate and help the Chicago area homeless population by creating MSM Winter Care Kits.

In September, donations of winter hats, scarves, gloves, and socks, along with non-perishable foods and toiletries were collected. In early October, for 1 week during the lunch hour, the employees were able to take the donations and assemble the Winter Care Kits, which were created as either Male, Female, or Family.

More than 50 Winter Care Kits were created with all the donations received. After all the kits had been assembled, employees were asked to distribute the kits to the homeless they may encounter on the streets, or some opted to take a few kits to keep in their cars in case they come across a homeless person in need throughout the winter months.
